ESTMA:
The Extractive Sector Transparency Measures Act (ESTMA) legislation was enacted by the Canadian government on December 16, 2014 and was brought into force on June 1, 2015. The Act requires companies in the business of commercial development of crude oil, natural gas and minerals, such as Lynx Energy, to publicly disclose, on an annual basis, specific payments made to all governments in Canada and abroad.
The ESTMA legislation is administered by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), and additional information on ESTMA can be found on NRCan’s website (nrcan.gc.ca).
